All About Us

Kislingbury Bowls Club was re-formed in the 1970's by a group of villagers. (see history section). We are a mixed club in as much that the club is managed by a mixed committee. There are several sub-committee's who have specialised roles such as green keeping, catering, building maintenance and bar, etc.

It is generally recognised that Kislingbury has some of the best facilities in the county with regard to the standard of the green, club house, car parking and floodlighting.

Although we claim to be a mixed club the ladies and the men both have their own sections with their own fixture lists. We also have a midweek mixed games.

All the work involved involved with running the club is done voluntarily but also very professionally. As we have a junior section we also have to have a child support officer and the all our coaches are DBS (formerly CRB) cleared.

Many pundits hold the opinion that bowling is not a game for youngsters, but there is a very interesting fact which proves that this is not the case.

DID YOU KNOW THAT THE ENGLISH & AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL BOWLING SQUADS ARE YOUNGER THAT THE NATIONAL CRICKET TEAM.

During the outdoor playing season the club also has internal competitions which are played off during the summer months with finals being played in September. Several members also enter The County Competitions in the hope of representing The County in The All England finals held at Royal Leamington Spa.

In this respect our ladies have been more successful than the men and the honours boards and photos bear witness to that.

At the end of the summer we move into a more social atmosphere with shortmat bowls, indoor curling, lunches. etc.

Wish to join us but worried that you have not played before? No Problem! We have a team of qualified instructors to get you started at no cost. We have woods that you can borrow of various sizes.
